Oyster and champagne trip on Mandø
Experience the splendor of the Wadden Sea and enjoy the delicacies of the sea - oysters - directly from their habitat in the middle of the Wadden Sea.
Friday, 7th March at 12 noon
Saturday, 8th March at 1 pm
Max. 20 people per trip.
On the trip we will talk about birdlife, oysters, seals and life lived in the conditions of nature. Information in Danish, German and English.
You must be dressed appropriately for the weather. Minimum rubber boots, preferably waders.
You will be given gloves, a bag for collecting oysters, champagne glasses (for loan)
We will also bring champagne (with and without alcohol), champagne saber and oyster knives.
We will hike together from the dike on Mandø and out to the oyster banks.
On the trip we will dig up a few sandworms and catch and eat live shrimp (if they are there in the season).
After about 2 km we will arrive at the oyster banks.
Here we will collect our oysters and eat a few with a glass of bubbly champagne.
The champagne will of course be opened with a saber.
You can take home as many oysters as you want.
On the Saturday trip, there will be cooking and gratinating with an oyster enthusiast at Mandø Kro.
It is possible to stay overnight on Mandø during the trip.
